Kabul, Afghanistan: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Tuesday that the Path to regional peace and stability passes through Afghanistan, assuring that Pakistan has eliminated all terrorist sanctuaries from its soil, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s public relations wing.

COAS Bajwa said while addressing to the Chiefs of Defence Conference in Kabul, “Regions develop as a whole, not individual countries.”

He added that collaborative approach and patience will answer all the challenges. “Collaborative approach and persistence is the answer to all challenges. Pakistan is ready to play its part,” he vowed.

According to ISPR, Army Chief told that there are no terrorist sanctuaries left on the Pakistani soil. He signaled that residual signatures of terrorists take advantage of the 2.7 million Afghan refugees and absence of effective border security coordination to launch attacks.

Gen Bajwa said they are targeting these terror elements by ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, adding that Pakistani territory is not allowed to be used against any other country and “Pakistan expects the same reciprocity”.

COAS along with the Commander of United States (US) Central Command (CENTCOM), Commander of Resolute Support Mission (RSM), Army Chiefs of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan attended the conference. The conference was held to continue the cooperation in peace process.
